Hands to Heart
For over 20 years, Hands to Hearts and Night Train Run has (with the help of sponsors and volunteers) been helping disadvantaged children in the KC area. Founded in 1993 Hands to Heart is a non-profit & volunteer organization that delivers toys to low income families. In order to collect toys the “Night Train Run” was founded in 1997.  Instead of charging a registration fee, attendees are asked that you bring as many toys as your hawg will haul! Toys are distributed all year to children whose families have suffered from house fires, domestic violence, parents that have lost jobs, to natural disasters, etc. Deliveries of toys can exceed well over 5000 children every Holiday season.

SACRED
SACRED assists families with a child or children who have been sexually abused and suffered financially. When the sexual abuse of a child is reported and family has suffered a loss of income, not only must the family deal with the emotional damage to their child/children and the legal process to protect their child, they now must face the immediate reality of not having money to pay for housing, food, clothes, transportation and other necessities we all take for granted. This is where sacred comes in. They work with only accredited Child Advocacy Centers (CAC’s). When they receive an application for financial assistance from an advocate, and then Board approval, sacred will, within 24 hours, send a check to cover any shortfall the family may have for the next 30-60 days.
